Mac OS X Server 10.3.9 Update Warning

Updating a server to 10.3.9 will break the ability for users to login.

Fortunately the fix is easy.

  • On the server, open /Applications/Utilities/Directory Access
  • Authenticate if necessary
  • Double Click on LDAPv3
  • Click Authentication
  • Click Add
  • Add the /LDAP/yourserverstuff to the authentication
  • Close the Directory Access application
  • restart teh server

Reminder- always run Disk Utility Repair Permissions on your boot drive whenever you update or install programs.
