Superintendent's Conference Streaming Simulcast

Since we have some schools without access to Cable TV, we will be simulcasting the Superintendent's speech on Friday, Febuary 17, 2006 at 1 pm.
What you need:
- A fairly fast Mac or PC (G4 eMac or Pentium IV PC)
- Ethernet connection
- A way to present the broadcast (an overhead projector, or you Tandberg unit connected to your computer as a monitor)
- Quicktime 7 installed (preferably the Quicktime 7 pro for full screen (e-mail scaher@buffalo.k12.ny.us for the registration code.) Please note- you will need to have admin privileges and Deep Freeze (if installed) must be unlocked.
What to do:
- Start Quicktime Player.
- Choose File-->Open URL
- Enter 'rtsp://carnegielms.buffalo.k12.ny.us/williams.sdp' in the url field, click ok.
- The video stream should start playing- resize the window to the desired size, or switch Quicktime Player to full screen mode if you have the Pro version.
Notes:
- You may also download this QT Media Link file, which should open the stream directly.
- We'll be restarting the stream about 5 minutes before the presentation is to begin
- If there are difficulties (eg.- we have to restart the stream)- close the video window, and re-open the URL in Quicktime Player.

Our Superintendent's Conference Day is fast approaching. We are excited about the full day of activities planned for Friday, February 17, 2006, especially our WNED live telecast starting at 1:00 p.m. on Channel 21.
The WNED telecast must be viewed by all school and district staff from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. (1 hour presentation). The telecast will focus on the topic, "Academic Rigor and the BPS Three Year Academic Achievement Plan".
Staff is encouraged to email questions during the telecast to WNED at:

-- Excessive network activity may affect the quality of the stream (ie- don't download large files or software updates during the broadcast)
-- Remember- if the stream stops, close the window and then re-connect to the url...
