Your Web Mail Just Got Better!

Use web mail? On May 1, Buffalo Public Schools will debut a more robust and feature-rich Lotus Notes experience. Read on to see what you have to do access your new Notes web mail.

inotes3Your district web mail just got better! So what's new?

  • Greater functionality for Mac and PC users.
  • Upgraded Calendar, To Do and Contacts
  • New features include  the Notebook, automatic archiving, the soft delete as well as a spam blocker.
  • Mac users now have an iNotes, a full featured web mail.
  • Users will have a new e-mail address.

What is my new e-mail address?

  • All e-mail addresses will now end with @buffaloschools.org  
  • The first part of your new address will be the same as it is now.
  • For example: asmith@buffalo.k12.ny.us  will become asmith@buffaloschools.org
  • Changes will be done automatically, and your old address will continue to work for the near future.
  • Update the signature line that appears at the bottom of the email with your new address, and let people you email regularly know of the change.
  • E-mail addresses will change on May 1, 2006.

How do access my web e-mail?


What do I need to do to upgrade my mail?

  • PC users will receive their upgrade automatically and need not install any additional software.
  • Mac users, please note you must be running OSX and use Firefox or Camino, to access the new Domino Web Access.

    camino iconDownload Camino (Click Here) and install Camino in the Applications folder on your hard drive
  • Which browser to choose? If you are working on an iBook, download and install Firefox. If you access your web mail on a desktop workstation (eMac or iMac), you will want to follow the recommendation of the IT department and use Camino. Camino is based on Mozilla® technolog and designed for a mac. It works better in a school's networked, managed environment. It is faster and works with Mac System Services better.

Some Things to Remember:

  • If users are on OS 9, they will still be able to access their web mail, but will not be part of the Domino Web Access upgrade. 's and technology contact personnel in buildings with OS 9 users should call the Help Desk at 816-3510 as this mail setup requires special configuration.
  • Users they can continue to use their favorite browser that has their bookmarks.
  • If you use the Lotus Note client, this upgrade does not affect you.
