eSIS Update: Promotion Policy/Grading Regulation: 7210R

by Sharon Caher last modified Nov 14, 2008 08:54 AM

There have changes made to the BPS promotion and grading policy. Read below for more information.

Secondary:
As discussed this morning, changes to the promotion policy take into account how  the final average will be calculated at the Secondary level.  To review these changes, please refer to page #5 of the Final promotion policy, and under the column "Determining The Final Average".

These changes take effect as of September 18th when the regulations were passed through the board, and covers grades 7-12. Also, be aware of the new standardized course weight for AP and IB courses..."Superintendent's Letter..."

Elementary:
The Office of Shared Accountability will be releasing a memo shortly regarding the
lowest grade (70) a teacher can give a student at the elementary level. Unlike regulation 7210R,
this will be applicable for all four marking periods. After reading the regulations, if you have any questionsm, please contact Mike Hume or Carl Kogler in the Office of Shared Accountability.
