A web workshop is planned for December 6 so that Technology Integration Specialists can work on their schools' webpages. The all day session will be held at the BPDTC, 150 Lower Terrace, starting at 8:30 a.m.
A workshop is planned for Thursday, December 6 at the Buffalo Professional Development and Technology Center, 150 Lower Terrace for district Technology Integration Specialists. This all day workshop which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. is intended to provide IT staff time to update their school's websites.
TIS's will have a chance to review the website's content management system, post information to their sites and collaborate with their colleagues. For new TIS's there will be a morning session introducing them to the content management system.
If there is a building staff member, clerical or instructional, who will be adding content to the site, the December 6 workshop could provide a chance to train that person. This of course depends on the principal's willingness to release this staff member for the day or part of the day.
Site Goes Live
The new district website, which can be viewed athttp://bpsws01.buffaloschools.org/index_test.cfm is going live December 21. The first part of November was spent training department staff, both curricular and administrative, who are currently working on their pages.
Much of the work that was accomplished on the school pages before last June was lost, despite a concerted effort to recover the data and needs to be recreated. This will not happen again.
