Hi Folks.  FREE seminar at the Little Theater, Rochester, Wed Oct 12.

Are You Reaching All Learners?

For learners with disabilities, more options than ever before. Since 1985, Apple has been committed to helping students   with disabilities access technology. “Reaching All Learners”   explores the added accessibility features brought to us by Mac OS X Tiger and Apple’s partners in education who develop   for the Mac Platform. Tiger offers a suite of accessibility tools   and technologies—collectively termed Universal Access-designed  to work together to address the unique needs of each student  and  the challenges of many learners.

Join your colleagues in curriculum development and special  education as we examine Tiger’s elegant, innovative solutions  for students with vision, hearing and motor skills challenges.  See how Universal Access works with  many applications and  supports multiple users with a positive, personalized learning experience.  Learn how to break down the barriers to accessing information technology and how to maximize the independence, and productivity of students with learning challenges.

For districts with funding challenges, more resources than ever before. “Reaching All Learners” examines funding resources available under  the new IDEA legislation, a federal bill encouraging the use of  technology to  educate children with disabilities. We’ll also review  support options based  on the intersection of IDEA and NCLB, as  well as Medicare/Medicaid entitlements. And we will offer suggestions  for formulating an accessible technology policy for your district.
