November Inservice Focuses on Internet Learning Tools. On the Agenda are: • Blogging: Beyond School Walls • Internet Tools for the Classroom • ThinkBright and Video • Podcasting in the Classroom • Focus on Reading Please check the Related Items section Monday for an updated version of the agenda.

(Please fill out the TIS Inservice Survey)

Because of the Veterans Day observance, the November inservice will held on Wednesday, November 9  from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Buffalo Professional Development and Technology Center, 150 Lower Terrace.

(All other inservices this school year are scheduled for the second Friday of each month as previously announced.)

The day's program will focus on internet learning tools with sessions on podcasting, blogging, Thinkbright and setting up customized web resources with presenters from BPS classrooms and BOCES.

Please check the Related Items section for a link to a complete agenda of the day's events.

The agenda has been updated. Because of a last minute scheduling conflict, CATE has cancelled the NYLearns update in order to be available to train staff in New York City. We would like to thank Donna Raczynski, District Team , for accpeting a last minute request to present. She will continue the Focus on Reading series.

On the Agenda are:
• Blogging: Beyond School Walls
• Internet Tools for the Classroom
• ThinkBright and Video
• Podcasting in the Classroom
• Focus on Reading

There will be two sessions for Internet Tools for the Classroom. Those who attended the Focus on Reading Session last month (grades PreK to 6) will attend the afternoon presentation. The morning session is for all others. (If the schedule does not allow you to attend a session, we will ask the presenter(s) to come back next month.)

Participants will be on their own for lunch from 11:45 to 1 p.m. and are reminded that there is free parking in the BPS lot on Lower Terrace on the south side of the WNED building.

ipodThe day will conclude with a drawing for two iPods and two Griffin iTalks to be used in the winners' schools. It is hoped they will bring samples of student use back to the January meeting to share with their colleagues.

On-line Evaluation
The evaluation of the day's program will be on-line. A link to the evaluation form will be posted on the day of the inservice and will remain live for the next work week. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to last month's evaluation.
