Installing HP1100 Network Printers
Setting Up the HP 1100 Printer on an IBM ThinkPad
(Using the software CD)
Click; start
Click; Printers and Faxes
In the left side of the Printers and Faxes window, under Printer Tasks click; Add a printer
Click;

In the next window select; Local printer attached to this computer and uncheck the box to automatically detect the printer, Click;


In the next window select Create a new port:, and select
Standard TCP/IP Port from the drop down list, Click;![]()

again.
Enter the IP address of the printer that you want in the Printer Name field. (You can find the IP address on the printer configuration page. To print a configuration page; press the little button located on the JetDirect adapter just under where the Ethernet cord is connected to the printer.)

Port name will auto-fill, Click;

again.Click;

.In the Install Printer Software window select

.In the Install from Disk window click the Browse… button.
Be sure the software CD is in the drive and use the following path to locate the driver file in the Locate File window:
Look in: D:\Setup\Drivers\PCL3\Win2k_XP\English\hpf1100k.inf

Double click on each folder to “drill down” and find the hpf1100k.inf file on the disk.
Click once on this file so it is highlighted and click![]()

button in the next window.Confirm the printer model is correct and click

In the next window you can give the printer a unique name and set it as the default printer if you wish. Hint use a name that includes a location for the printer also. Click

when ready.

In the Printer Sharing window select; Do Not Share.
In the next window you can print a test page if you wish.
Click

, and you are done. The new printer will appear on your printer list.
