Clearing Security Logs on a PC
When a user is unable to log in and the reason given on the logon screen is "Security Log Full", download the pdf attached below and follow the steps. This usually fixes the error. This happens periodically to the same pcs depending on how much the computer is used.
Please note: The user must sign on with admin privileges.
Clearing Security Log Files
Step 1.) Right-click on My Computer, then left-
click on “Manage” on the pop-up menu.
Step 2.) Double-
click on “Event
Viewer” in the
System Tools
section.
Step 3.) Right-click
on “Security” and
left-click on
“Properties” in the
pop-up menu.
Step 4.) On the “General” tab, make sure
“Overwrite events as needed” is selected,
then click “Clear Log”
Step 5.) Press “No” when asked to save,
then hit “OK” on the Properties window
you were just on to save your changes
