How to access your Teacher Center course files from outside
         of the Teacher Center

In Mac OS X




1. Choose Go-->Connect to Server




2. Type server.910.buffalo.k12.ny.us for address




3. Enter your name and password for server.910




4. Choose your home directory from the list (or TechCenter)

5. Your home directory will appear on your document., giving you access to all of your




  files.

From Mac OS 8-9




1. Choose Apple-->Chooser




2. Click the AppleShare icon



3. Click the Server IP Address button
4. Enter server.910.buffalo.k12.ny.us for the address and click Connect




5. Enter your username and password, click Connect.




6. Choose your home directory, and click OK

7. Your home directory should show on your desktop, giving you access to all of your files.

For Windows XP
In Windows, you need to “Map” a network mount to a drive letter.




 1. Choose Start-->My Computer




 2. Choose Tools-->Map Network Drive

 3. Select a drive letter. Type \\server.910.buffalo.k12.ny.us\techcenter\username\ for the
   folder (substitute your username. If your sharepoint is on another place in the server,
   substitute that for techcenter.) Click Connect with a different user name.




 4. Enter your server.910 username and password, click OK.
 5. Click Finish.
 6. Your sharepoint will now show up under Network Drives.

Connecting Using Older Windows Software



Any Windows (command line), including Windows 95

At a DOS Prompt (Command Prompt) type:

   net user h: \\server.910.buffalo.k12.ny.us\techcenter\username /user:username

Where:
   h: is the drive letter you wish to connect to
   techcenter is the sharepoint your home directory is on (default for most users)
   username is your server.910 username (in both places.)

Enter your password when prompted. The sharepoint should mount as the specified drive letter.
