Exportation of data from ESIS to Excel

Export data in a format recognizable to Excel for data manipulation.

Exporting data from esis to file form- not print (xls)

  1. lock school

  2. reports->at the bottom, select export/ad hoc file

  1. select the parameters for export (the following fields are for an active directory request to Bob Swipes) 0x01 graphic

    1. first name

    2. legal name

    3. pupil number

    4. grade (alter this after export to reflect students' first year of high school for Mr. Swipes)

      1. grade 9 entry date is currently an empty field and not useful

    5. Home school

    6. HR1 should be used if needed: HomeRoom # is currently empty

  1. Use the up and down arrows to move a selection up or down the list: list order becomes column order on export

  2. Click create file: using the tab delimiter makes it easy to open the file in Excel and check the export Field Titles first check box to place headers on your exported columns 0x01 graphic

  3. Click go to extract, and the school tab to select the right school (if you locked your school, you can just pick current school 0x01 graphic

  4. Click run extract

  5. Click go back when the extract has finished running

  6. Use the exit door to return to the save window

  7. Click save as to name the file (use an xls extension) and choose a save location

  8. Click create export
