by Sharon Caher last modified Oct 11, 2008 12:17 PM

Need to create a password for your Active Directory account? Follow the four steps below. Your password must contain 3 out of 4 elements: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers and special keyboard characters.

1. Password must be at least 7 characters long (can be longer, of course)

2. Must contain 3 out of 4 of:
    A. Upper Case letters
    B. Lower Case letters
    C. Numbers
    D. Keyboard specail characters ($,%, & and so on)

3. Not allowed:
mypet         - too short, not complex enough (contains only lower case letters)
Gafortonshnorton     -     long enough, but only contains upper and lower case letters.
Scaher1    - this contains a user name and is not allowed

4. Good examples:
    Bxy1xyz
    gonePost@l
    bugs&daffY
