Building Blocks and TRIAD Projects Resource Page

TRIAD is a BPS/UB project that provides professional development, curriculum, and resources to PreK teachers who are implementing the Building Blocks early childhood mathematics curriculum in their classrooms. (We are beginning with preschool, but pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade will all be involved.)

Building Blocks and TRIAD Project

TriadIconTRIAD is a BPS/UB project that provides professional development, curriculum, and resources to teachers who are implementing the Building Blocks early childhood mathematics curriculum in their classrooms.

TRIAD = Technology-enhanced, Research-based,  Instruction, Assessment, and professional  Development.


TRIAD provides

  • Building Blocks pre-kindergarten mathematics curriculum, including print materials for children, teachers, and families; software for children; and a software management and reporting system for teachers.
  • On-site classroom support by school-based coaches and mentors
  • Innovative, interactive professional development TRIAD web site with extensive support for teaching based on learning trajectories
  • Family component with print materials, web-site,
  • Building Blocks software supplements for follow-up in K-3, including a software management and reporting system for teachers.
  • All components of the Building Blocks curriculum, which use learning trajectories to develop young children's mathematics abilities
