Client connection configuration changes for migration to WNYRIC

Have the user access Lotus Notes and log on.
Open the address book by clicking on the sidebar icon.
In the left-side column, click on the triangle in front of Advanced to reveal the choices underneath.
Click on Connections:

Delete ALL connection documents in the right-side panel in turn by clicking on each once and then hitting the
keyboard Delete key, or by clicking on the ‘Delete Connection’ button.
This will put an X in front of the deleted connection.

NOTE – if there is a connection document for ns-shirley/servers/e1boces/erie1 DO NOT DELETE IT.

When you are done, press the keyboard F9 key to remove the connections permanently.

From the top menu, click File, Database, Open
Change the server to ns_buffalo
Type connections.nsf in the filename box

Click the Open button
If you get a box saying ‘You are not authorized to perform this operation’ click the OK button.
You should get this screen:

In the left-side column, click on Connections
The right side should be filled in as below:

                            Drag in here

Select all four connection documents by dragging your mouse in the small column directly to the left of the four
connection documents.

You will see four check marks to indicate that they have been selected, as shown below:

From the top menu, click on Edit, Copy.

Go back to the user’s local address book.
From the top menu, click Edit, Paste
The four connection documents should appear as connections in the address book.
Close the Address book.
Close the Lotus Notes Client
Start Lotus Notes back up and test to be sure the user can still access email.

If you cannot find the Connections in the Address Book:

Determine if the user has Client version 7.
If not, and you have time, export the address book (if needed), save the data files, upgrade the client, and import
the address book (if exported).
Then copy the connection documents as outlined above.

If the computer has Client 7 and you don’t see the screen above:
Click on the second icon below the name in the bottom left-corner. The one with the gear.
That should make the connection document available.
Proceed as outlined above.
