INTRODUCING THE VCMPD TEACHERS
This is a four-minute video portrait of five of the teachers featured in the modules. It is intended to frame use of the entire set of video-based modules.

FOUNDATION MODULE
Conceptualizing and Representing Linear Relationships consists of eight sequential sessions. Each is designed to enrich teachers’ ability to teach about linear relationships and deepen their own detailed knowledge of the distinctions and linkages among the various representations.



EXTENSION MODULES
There are four Extension Modules. Each one contains two or three sessions focusing on a specific idea regarding teaching mathematics or examining the mathematics of a lesson. The Extension Modules are: (1) Launching a Lesson or Task;(2) Examining Equivalence and Proof;(3) Making Use of Student Ideas During Discussion; and (4) Interpreting and Responding to Unexpected Student Methods.

SIS (WNYRIC) Student Information System Resource Page

		SIS (WNYRIC) The district is currently using the WNYRIC hosted SIS system for its student information system. Student information, grades, assignments, schedules, and more can be accessed via a terminal based command line interface. A wide variety of reports are accessible. The SIS software can be accessed via an installed terminal emulation program or via the web. It will soon be replaced by the eSIS package.

Requirements:		TN3270 Terminal Emulation software or a web browser with Java capabilities.

Installation for Windows PCs		Please request SIS installation at the District Help Desk
Installation for Mac OS X PCs		The district Mac clones contain the necessary software in Applications->WNYRIC SIS. The software may also be download here. Mac OS X Tip: by default the function keys perform Mac-specific funtions like sound volume, Expose, Dashboard, etc.. Use Apple->System Preferences, Select the Keyboard & Mouse preference pane, and check the "Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features" checkbox. Once checked the function keys will work as primary in the SIS software. Mac Numeric Keypad Tip: To allow access to the Number pad on a fullsize keyboard, select the menu Session->Key Mapping->Numeric Keypad Mac Enter Key Tip: Use the Return key instead of the Enter key

		Lotus Notes Lotus Notes is a powerful communication and collaboration software package. It consists of tools that allow organizations to communicate via e-mail, group calendars, scheduling, and more. The Lotus Notes server can be accessed via a Lotus Notes Client applications package (must be installed), or via a web browser. When accessing via a webbrowser, users may be using either the Web Access (aka iNotes) view (Windows only), or the Webmail view.
