About This Site

by Scott Nourse last modified Oct 11, 2008 12:19 PM

This page is a brief desciption of the new site, and contains instructions on how to add new content. How do I add calendar dates (events), news items, web pages, blogs? What should I change the object state to?

Welcome to the New Site!

The old technology page is still available at http://server.910.buffalo.k12.ny.us/oldtechnology/

Suggestions and tips on using the site:

Please use Firefox for Editing as it works best with the page editor.  Safari (Macintosh) generally works best for viewing the site.

The New Web Service Product: Plone 2.1

Why switch?  We hope that Plone 2.1 will give us the following benefits:

  • It  has a clean interface that has been tested and designed for ease of use and 508 access.
  • Powerful search capabilities (including a "live typing" site wide search box) and smart folders will make it easy to find instructional technology information.
  • A great support community.
  • Powerful built in features and third party add-ons.
