School Dude Tutorial for TIS and Techs

This tutorial shows how to manage your school dude help desk tickets and requests. This tutorial is intended for TIS's and district technical support staff.
              Quick Step Guide for IT Technicians

•  Logging into ITDirect (IT): Open your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape etc…) and
  type in http://itd.schooldude.com into the address field and press Enter or click on Go.




•  Creating a shortcut: Once the login screen appears, find a blank area on the page, click your right
  mouse button and select Create Shortcut. This will add an icon to your desktop. Double-click the
  icon to access the login screen.




  After creating the short-cut use your Login Name and Password to access the system. Consult
  your supervisors if you do not have a login.

•  Entering labor hours on incidences: There are two ways to enter labor hours on a work order.
  The first way is straight from the Home tab under the section called Assigned Work. Simply enter

  1) scrolling to the incident and entering in labor hours on the home tab




  Please note: labor hours entered as regular time hours for the current date, work order status is
  changed to complete and the actual completion date is marked as the current date.
•  Entering labor hours on incidences: The second way to enter labor on incidences is by using the
  Labor Hours link located on the left-hand side of the Home tab.

You will see incidences assigned to you. To enter in labor hours for a specific date, click on the date
in the calendar on left-side of the screen, enter in your hours in the field. Note: OT links are for
over-time hours. Then click Save




Or you can enter in the incident ID number in the Search for field, click Go

Step 1: click on the New Labor Transaction link

     Step 2: enter the time spent on the work order for the appropriate date (.25 .5 1 1.75)
     Step 3: enter the Action Taken, or what was done to correct the issue stated in the work order.
     Step 4: enter the date the work order was completed
     Step 5: click Save to save the information against the incidences.

•  Entering incidents: The technician role also provides the ability to enter incidences into the
  system. To enter incidences click on the New Incident tab.




  Enter the requested information.

Step 1:  Enter the Location, Area, and Area Number where the work should be done.
Step 2:  Select a Problem Type that identifies what is wrong in the Location mentioned.
Step 3:  Enter a brief description of the problem
Step 4:  Enter a date in which the work should be completed (Optional Step)
Step 5:  This is the users contact info. The system defaults this information for you automatically.
Step 6:  Indicate whether you will, have, or will not perform the work.

  Step 7: Click the Submit button to save the incident in the system. The system refresh the page
      displaying the system assigned incident ID number.

•  Reviewing your submitted incident requests: To review incidences you submitted into the system
  click on the My Requests tab.




•  Changing your contact info and password: To change your contact information or password click
  on the My Account tab. After the changes are made click Done to save your changes.
