Introduction
This document is meant to set a guideline for preparing and returning your Palm PDA and
accessories for storage over the summer. A designated staff member will manage the logistics
of the collection of all Palms. This could be will your building’s Technology Integration
Specialist (TIS), an Administrator or other staff member The following pages provide detailed
illustrated instructions for preparing and returning your Palm for summer storage.


What is the Procedure for Handing in My Palm for Summer
Storage?
When you hand in your Palm and it’s accessories to your building’s designated staff member
you must bring your sign out sheet. It is not necessary to return the box, as it will not be used
to store your Palm. A Ziploc storage bag will be provided. Your bag will be labeled, sealed
and stored in a secure location for the summer. The appropriate space will be initialed and a
copy of the Tracking Form will be provided to you with changes indicating that you have
returned your Palm and accessories.

What Do I Need To Hand In?
You must hand in four items to your school’s designated staff member. Each of these items
was included in the box when your Palm was issued. If you are aware of any missing or
damaged parts or your Palm is not operating please inform the person you are returning it to.

  ♣ Items to Return
      o  Palm
      o  Stylus
      o  Power Adapter
      o  USB HotSync Cable

 ♣ Things You Should Check for Before Returning Your Palm and
   Accessories:

    o Your Palm powers on when the power button is
     pressed.



    o Your serial Number located on the back of the Palm matches the serial #
     recorded on the Tracking Form that you signed and submitted when your Palm
     was issued to you.
    o You have the correct power adapter, and USB Hotsync cable. In the images
     below are the (left) sync and the (center) USB ends of your Hotsync cable. To
     the right is what the end of your power adapter should look like.




Note: The images above apply to the Palm model E2. If you have a
Palm E or older, your Hotsync cable and power adapter may vary
slightly.
